Finally a decent icon editor. I've only used it two times but I like it.
I've used this program for many years and was quite happy with it - until a few years ago I needed to do something (I forget what) that it just could not do. A search and a trial quickly convinced me of Axialis IconWorkshop which can do everything Microangelo can - and then some. There's nothing wrong with Microangelo - but Axialis is simply more powerful.
Still there are things I found both programs cannot do: extract an icon from "older" Windows executables (which is why I recently tried Microangelo again: it failed to detect the icons just as Axialis did). The solution was using FmView, which could see all icons and has a (limited) capability of exporting one; the resulting BMP can them be imported into either Axialis or Microangelo.
Hm this sounds great, trying it out right now!
