Completely free - no upsell from Microsoft. One of the best detective AV solutions avaliable from personal experience. Very lightweight, almost no system performance degredation at all.
Well done Microsoft for once!
Completely free, Clean tab interface, Excellent Real-time protection, Excellent detection definitions, Updates regularly via Windows Update, Works excellent with a very small memory footprint. Only basic features e.g Anti-Malware and Real-time, no network control manager or other forms of protection from malicious sites and scam sites. But a great Anti-Malware utility for any PC with XP, Vista or Win 7 and for even the most novice users. I have used and tested it and it is a very strong Anti-Malware utility I recommend it to everyone and so far not complaints just really positive feedback. For once Microsoft you got yourself a good program!
i must say its one the best antivirus solution available... kudos Microsoft...
antivirus from microsoft stays out of here. I keep it with avast.
Better than I expected! Easy to use, very fast scans. Good job Microsoft!

Oh no you don't, you're going to play... POLE POSITION!!!!!!!!
Microsoft and AV Software? Not in my world.
sooo kooool..
Switched from Avast! to MSE, never looked back. The first usable piece of software from Microsoft. Since Microsoft's monopoly was challenged, they actually have to start workin'
Great AV!
Great To keep you computer protected (You might want a backup such as Mcafee) I'm using, Mcafee, Microsoft Security Essentials, And Windows Defender.
It's supposed to update quite unregularly... 6 days old virus definition and still "up-to-date".
I can hardly recommend this tool.
Works great and uses practically no resources. Will definitely recommend to those looking for no hassle security.
Quick'n'Lightweight.
so easy so light
