Calling it a "Pro" version is bullshit. I like that the application is simple, but it feels like beta to me, because there aren't enough functions available. Exporting to HTML is disappointing. The visual output is like a list with sublists, but the code is rubbish. I'd rather write the HTML myself. However, for simple mindmaps and brainstorm sessions it is useful, and the full screen option helps a lot with that. For advanced stuff or just some more markup I'll recommend Omnigraffle.
What I had hoped would be another Mac-experience with elegant simplicity instead turned out to be utter rudiment. I’m slightly curious as to what the non-pro version of MindNode offers seeing as the “Pro” version is so incredibly sparse. Of course to satisfy curiosity alone isn't worth looking in to. IMHO, anyone looking for a low-cost, bare-bones mind mapping application for Mac OS X should probably consider MindNode as a feasible option. That said, to date (April 2009), again IMHO, OmniGraffle continues to set the bar for the best available Mac-esque Mind Mapping experience available for OS X.
Users who have no need of OmniGraffle's more intermediate features can optionally confine their use to only the fundamental features of OmniGraffle and still reap the benefits of the most powerfully simple mind mapping solution for the Mac. The Omni Group is well-known amongst many Mac Users for making beautiful and powerful Mac Software for capturing and organizing your information. OmniGraffle is a testament to elegant simplicity over mere rudiment. For the more advanced mind mappers, I’d recommend OmniGraffle Pro.
