A language/framework on Windows
"Minimal SYStem" is a command line environment that provides UNIX tools on Windows. MSYS is required to properly compile programs under MinGW.
MSYS can be thought of as an alternative to Cygwin, although it does not provide as much functionality as the latter.

Installing this is horrific. But once that's over, it makes development on Windows a lot easier.
