The 3rd most popular racing game on Windows

Need for Speed™ SHIFT is an award-winning authentic racing game that combines the true driver’s experience with real-world physics, pixel-perfect car models, and a wide range of authentic race tracks. Need for Speed SHIFT takes players in a different direction to create a simulation experience that replicates the true feeling of driving high-end performance cars. Players are thrust into the loud, visceral, intense, athletic experience of racing a car on the edge of control from the driver’s perspective through the combination of perception based G-forces, the hyper reality of the cockpit view, and the brutal experience of a first person crash dynamic. Need for Speed SHIFT features an accurate, accessible physics-based driving model that allows you to feel every impact, every change of track surface and every last bit of grip as you push yourself to the edge. The all-new driver profile is the ultimate extension of the true driver’s experience. This system gives each player a unique persona based on a player’s driving skill and style - aggressive or precise. Driver profile impacts how a player unlocks cars, overall career progression and online matchmaking. In Need for Speed SHIFT, how you drive is who you are behind the wheel. Need for Speed SHIFT is being developed by Slightly Mad Studios in collaboration with Black Box and senior vice president Patrick Soderlund at EA Games Europe. Slightly Mad Studios includes developers and designers that worked on the critically acclaimed games GT Legends and GTR 2.

This is by far one of the most challenging racing games. I'm addicted. (when on Pro handling with No assists)

Best NFS ever. Handling is sim like with a bias towards a forgiving oversteer. Well judged in my opinion. Did not expect to like it this much!

LOVE this game, the best NFS game so far, the graphics are awesome and the damage is great (you can even dent the crash barriers during a collision). Totally recommend this game to anyone as its not crappy and unrealistic like NFS Undercover for example. The only downside is that the customization is pretty limited compared to NFS Underground 2 for example although the paint job and decal menus are really nice. 9/10!

This game can be a good racing game, if you pretend GRID doesn't exist.

This game is intensely fun, still has that "Need For Speediness" about it, the shifts are horrible, but besides that, game play is awesome, AWD cars actually maintain most of their speed on grass, great advantage :P, Very hard to use keyboard with, Game pad advised.

Need for Speed SHIFT is an award winning game but not good as Race driver GRID! GRID is still the best !!!!!!!

Rather fab game, rather addictive, didn't really feel that repetitive to be honest, with all the different styles of races. Turning was fine in the game, though don't think you'll have much fun with a keyboard, a controller with analogues, or even a staring wheel and pedals is the best idea. Only one major problem I had with the game is the cars didn't take that much visible damage.

Even with an 360 gamepad, the turning is impossible. This game is more about perfecting a simple turn rather than the fun urban racing like in NFSU or Midnight Club.

Nice game... gets boring pretty fast though.

Agreed that you need an analog input device for this game to be enjoyed thoroughly. Driving with a keyboard is very twitchy, unless you soften up your car's suspension, tires, etc., but that degrades performance.

    Overall, an excellent game. :)

Excellent game, more of a racer than undercover and easy to get into, however it does pose a challenge on later levels
