This is without a doubt my favorite IDE. I use it mainly for Java development, but since the newer versions, I've played around with the new PHP support a little bit. I have to say it works rather nicely. NetBeans has a plethora of features, including excellent syntax highlighting, code completion, and high customizability. Add to that the fact that it's open source, and you can't go wrong!
One of the best options is version file tracker
really starting to like NetBeans now after using it for a while.
This application is not being tracked on Ubuntu.
Ten times better than Eclipse ever will be.
Work with PHP and Java Development.
Everything a developer needs!
Many good features like in Zend or Simphony from one side, and PHP Expert Editor speed of performance from the other.
good .. but I like Eclipse better
Very solid IDE.
Netbeans and other java applications on linux are not tracked
perfect free IDE. at least for php
Wakoopa seems not are doing correctly traking in GNU/Linux the process is java but is the binary from JRE, Netbeans could be identified by some parameters wich starts with -Dnetbeans
Although it runs (comparatively) slow and likes to chew HDD a lot, I consider it the best IDE among free ones. If you're in for some serious development, be sure to try it.
Netbeans 6.8 has a embed Browser. This is a great feature.
