Best bandwidth management program.
A must have for everyone who uses the Internet more that for just checking email. The feature-richness is awesome and the integrated firewall, that is simple, but has everything you can ever need, makes this software even more worth buying.
@Stephen Judge In Linux you have pyshaper http://www.freenet.org.nz/python/pyshaper/ However I found I nice documentation to limit bandwidth in Linux http://www.faqs.org/docs/Linux-HOWTO/Bandwidth-Limiting-HOWTO.html
In Windows the best I know is NetLimiter 1.3.
Does anyone know of a good open source alternative to NetLimiter. The free version of NetLimiter only monitors bandwidth, it does not give you the options to limit bandwidth usage.
Any Open Source suggestions welcome, no propitiatory freeware please.

I looked for months to find a program that could tell me what was sucking my bandwidth. NTOP is abysmal under Windows. NetLimiter does everything I need.
I am using the free version of Netlimiter. I've to say that this is the most simple internet bandwidth management tool I've ever seen.
This app allow you to limit up/down bandwidth by program or IP.
I want it in Linux.

Very good if you want a simple firewall to allow or deny internet access for some software.
Very usefull when bandwidth control is needed, though latest versions where buggy at the time.
Simple and fast. I use it as a firewall and traffic monitor.
