About the most featureless useful program there is. Wordpad is generally
better every respect except for simplicity and size. of course if you could get
TextEdit on windows it would blow both away.

Simple to use, use it for editing files in conjunction with FTP ;)
I think I only use it to write and identify Japanese and Chinese characters, but overall it's simply the best text editor.
