NoteTab Pro

I put this program among my must haves. I've found other programs that do individual functions slightly better or faster, but none that match the overall versatility of NoteTab. I've used it for 5+ years, and even paid for the Pro version. I wasn't disappointed. I make sure I have it on every computer I use, work and home. The clips, aka macros, are straightforward and useful, it handles vast amounts of text with easy (hundreds of thousands of lines), love the feature where it replaces the very limited Windows clipboard (works even better when paired with FireFox AutoCopy add-on). And the regular expression search and replace feature makes this program exceedingly powerful for a writer like myself.

I've been using NoteTab for many years. So have most of my online friends, especially those friends who use MasterCook software. It is many things to many people, but I use it for text editing (prepping incoming and scanned recipes prior to loading into MasterCook) and for using 'clips' (which are macros basically) that we users have made specifially to match our MasterCook needs. BUT YOU can have clips that do all kinds of things that you might need done automatically, and they are fun to make or to load if you find one you like. Even if you never build webpages, or use clips to calculate the time it takes to fly to the moon, the text editing part of the program alone is so nice. (And there is a free version, and two paid versions; the Pro is only $30.) One lovely thing the program has is "Use as a PasteBoard" -- you set one document to be the recepatcle for any COPY or CUT action you do will using your computer (local or on web)...and whatever you copy or cut will instantly be placed into your designated document. No more need to buy pasteboard saver programs!! NoteTab becomes part of your daily computer life. You will love it!
