Excel is old and still a standard. I expect it to be knocked out of the
water sometime. It was invented in 1985... XLSX is promising but still might
not cut it.
The Numero Uno Spreadsheet program in the world. Cheap imitations like
OpenOffice, and not-so cheap ones like Numbers, don't even come close. However,
its a bit of a memory hog on the Mac. Hope that improves with the next
version.

I have a lot of respect for Excel. People who diss it probably haven't tried creating anything beyond a simple table.

cant go to school without office and excel, very good suite a little bloated though
So handy, can't run a business without this programme!
I'm using 2007 version and i think it's better than 2003 version. Great application!
I liked the 2003 version very much, but had to switch to 2007 one. Well, the diagrams are really better in 2007
The only Office product that i really like. In some features better than the OO competition, allthough the difference is not too big.
Possibly the best idea Microsoft ever had.... allows everyone to be a number cruncher.. Can't rave about it enough. Make it free.
Arguably the best piece of software Microsoft has ever put out.
In my opinion, it's the best tool in Microsoft office pack.

Excel is awesome.
Sure, it looks ugly, but it does a better job than Numbers. A necessary evil.
I only have it because of the Ultimate Steal thing. 90% off the Ultimate version of Office. It's actually good value then.
