I have been using Opera since back in the day when it was either add
supported or paid. I was glad to pay for what I thought back then was an
excellent browser. Now it is much more than that. The phrase I hear a lot of
late is Web Experience. That is what it is.
Though you can add features and widgets, right out of the box Opera just
about does everything you could want while connected. The feed reader,
downloader, email, history, tags, bookmarks, video viewing, pdf reader, on and
on.
I am writing this with Opera 10 alpha with no problems.
Caveat: Though the remarks promise there to be an HTML email writer, the
choice interface is there, but I have not been able to get good results with
copy and paste of graphics yet. Again, this is still alpha. Vs. 9.63 is very
stable in all ways.
I see Firefox as a toy, like an Erectorset, it's fun to add things to it to
see how they work, but after a while, like most toys, it gets tiresome. Grown
ups just like things to work. Opera works right out of the box.
