The 29th most popular action game on Windows
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is a first person tactical military game for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 developed by British game developer Codemasters. The game takes place on a small, fictional island based on the island of Kiska located off the north coast of Japan called Skira and is set in the near future. The island is a contested territory between Russia and China and becomes the centre of an armed conflict when a large untapped oil and gas reserve is discovered there. The Russians who own the island ask America (their allies) to intervene as they are busy dealing with a large Chinese force on their own Russian border. According to Game Informer, there are over 70 weapons in game, all supported by a realistic ballistics system. The weapons available in the game range from pistols and sub-machine guns to artillery and large bombs. They can be modified and equipped with optics, grenade launchers, laser sights and suppressors. There are 50 different land, air and sea vehicles including helicopters, tanks, boats and APCs. Also includes a mission editor which will allow players to create their own missions for single player, multiplayer and cooperative game modes. The editor supports many features including time of day, visual effects, dynamic weather and Lua scripting.… More Edit

Awesome game .... Story mode ... suck ~.~
I love this game it's so realistic but shame there is no dedicated servers that's my only issue.
Not a game for everyone. As with most realistic Military Simulation games anyway. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one saying this as well. So I'll go and compare it with something it is on the same base with, the old Operation Flashpoint and Arma.
I'll be honest by saying that I have a bias to milsim games such as this. I prefer it over fast paced super action shooters like Half-Life or Call of Duty. However comparing games like this with those games is very much like comparing two entirely different things like a pizza to a lasagna. The entirety, feel, and element of the two game types are different and the only real thing that games like those and milsims like this have in common is that they are generally first person shooters. Its now a matter of deciding which one you like better. Given the demands milsim games have however of any player on a personal level it is obvious not everyone will like it. The first Flashpoint suffered in the same manner as these newer milsims so its no surprise this one gets the same treatment.
On the comparison though Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is a fresh new take into the milsim system. Its feel and control has left the sluggish feel of all previous milsims before it to present a more responsive system that allows you to actually react fast to situations the game gives you. As opposed to the old Flashpoint and ArmA where the controls made you feel like there was always some delay in responsiveness and thus affects the players responsiveness. I don't really know how ArmA II's controls feel like yet as I have yet to purchase the game at the momment. Graphics wise this game is excellent. Yes it doesn't look as eye poppingly good as games like Wolfenstein or Call of Duty MW2 or even Crysis but for an open world sandbox type game its rather beautiful. If games like Half-Life or Call of Duty ran in an open world you can bet their requirements will sky rocket just like Crysis. While yes some of you might say Crysis should be the standard I dare say it should not. While Crysis is extremely beautiful graphics wise it is very ugly in requirements. I am lucky to have a rig that can run the game in top notch graphics and not freeze up so much but I know a lot of others don't. So cutting down on requirements to make it available to a wider market was a good move. Despite the cut back on requirements however they were able to pull of a sleek looking world with good lighting. The comparison between this and ArmA II however I would rather go with this one in graphics. ArmA II, based on what I have seen of Screenshots and gameplay footage, makes me feel like I'm merely going to be playing an improved version of the ArmA engine which is most likely the case, please correct me if I am wrong. The main iffies I have with ArmA is that the model anatomy and some animations look and feel distorted in some ways and the landscape is not as convincing as OFDR's despite the fact OFDR's landscape has too much uniformly cut grass. ITs not all flowers for OFDR for me though as OFDR does disappoint in a major manner in one aspect. OFDR has a serious lack of content both in singleplayer and in multiplayer. IT only provides you with one campaign that can be done real quick if played in the easier difficulties but the worse part is it is not extensive enough to use all the elements the game has to offer. It was made as if we are to expect them to release downloadable content for the game or its for the community to fill in which is rather inconvenient for those who don't go editing their own missions especially if we don't really understand coding language which is sort of needed if you want to make complex scripting. In the case of content I know ArmA II takes the cake based on the reviews and of what I see of it.
In conclusion I prefer this game's streamlined system of play and feel over any previous milsims I've encountered. I also like its graphics in consideration of the nature of how the game operates. But its lack of content makes it fall short of being the total best game for me. It is because of this lack of content that this game only gets an average 4 out of 5 for me.
游戏优化的很不错,画面很GRID,总的来说还是不错的,有待继续体验
Very good game, the missions are fun and adventerous to do.
it is very realistic and the graphics are ok too :)
this one is so much better than ARMA II
Had a bit of a play but don't think I'll be continuing with the game - graphics were very poor when compared to other modern titles.
People complained about ARMA 2, with reason, however this game has bad graphics, of course when compared to ARMA, but the Gameplay is better.
Bad Game, my opnion.
