The 7th most popular virtualizer on Windows
… More EditPCSX2 is a PlayStation 2 emulator for Windows and Linux, started by the same team that brought you PCSX (a Sony PlayStation 1 emulator).
The PCSX2 project attempts to allow PS2 code to be executed on your computer, thus meaning you can put a PS2 DVD or CD into your computers drive, and boot it up!
The project has been running for almost seven years now, and since it's initial release has grown in compatibility. From initially just being able to run a few public domain demos, it's current state enables many games to boot and actually be perfectly playable, such as the 'famous' Final Fantasy X or Devil May Cry 3.

Im using rev 1888 version, the "clamping mode" fixes lots of buggy games.
Just a note if you are on win7 - install directX dist for Aug 2009 first - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=04ac064b-00d1-474e-b7b1-442d8712d553
Beta version is pretty good, runs some games faster now.
Came a long way, I still can't seem to get MGS2 to run properly though.
It's a very good emulator. I used to use it until I gave up my PS2, as it is illegal to run an emulator without the system itself in your possession.
The best PS2 emu
Great PS2 emu, so happy to play the PS2 games I missed.
The best PS2 emu out there, though it does require quite a powerful PC to run most games and even then there's still some hiccups.
A capable PS2 emulator, especially with the recently released 0.9.6 'playground-merge' version. Can capably handle many PS2 games and with a little tweaking can show some of them at playable speeds. Games like FF-XII run almost-flawlessly, given sufficient 'grunt' to play them. Other games, like GT4, require some tweaking to run, and only some versions (In GT4's case, the NTSC edition) run without trouble.
Definitely visit the forums if you are interested, as many issues are discussed there; if you've got an issue, it's likely it has been reported, and is being worked on.
Finally, I can play Katamari Damacy on my PC! This is a dream come true. Performance is terrible but it's playable.
Great for PS2 emulation when you have got strong GPU.
Needs a fast CPU + GPU for PS2 emulation.
When it works a wee bit better will be great for playing all those legal games that I bought from the shop.
Honest
guy you r wrong!
some ps3 are able to play ps2 games, unfortunately,it's more expensive!
bleh,I hate Sony for not making anymore PS3 consoles with backwards compatibility.
