Using Pidgin quite a while now. In the past I used Windows Live Messenger,
Xchat(IRC client), Google Talk and Skype all standalone but with Pidgin you can
replace these for one simple program with less memory usage. It doesn't (and
probably never will) have all the feature the original clients have though
(handwriting, video/audio chat etc.) but they were unnecessary anyway. Side
note: Pidgin doesn't replace my Skype but it manages it.
