This is a great alternative to PhotoShop Elements and in many cases is better. The tutorials on the Pixelmator home page are great too and can really help the novice get into using the software to it's fullest capacity. While not nearly as robust as the full version of PhotoShop CS4, it comes close enough for the average CS4 user for most tasks. Pixelmator also outputs .psd files so you can use it collaboratively with other Photoshop users, Final Cut, Motion, After Effects and more.
Love Pixelmator. A most admirable replacement for PhotoShop...much cheaper and I think it works just as good if not better.
Good competitor to Photoshop. Does not have as many features as Photoshop but the price is significantly less. Takes awhile to get accustomed to the interface and trying to find things but worth it in the long run to save $$$
I use Pixelmator on my laptop rather than having to have a full CS4 install with me when I am out and about. It has really matured into a very usable program and contains many features that other packages charge a lot more money for. If you are looking for a fairly technical image editing application - then Pixelmator might just be for you. Try it and see!
very nice editing program. As a hard-core photoshop-user, i don't use this program. But it is still a nice and well-designed editing-program

I'm a web developer. I don't spend a lot of time manipulating images, but when I need to make a change I need it to be easy and fast. Pixelmator is perfect. It has all of the tools I would expect and is really fast.
It's a good replacement for Photoshop, but it still has some bugs.

A very good and simple image editor
an excellent and eye-pleasing photoshop replacement. the only downside for me is there is no option in the channel mixer to change the image to monochrome, making black and white conversion difficult (aka impossible).
PRETTY!!! But haven't started using it yet...

If it were a little less black and if it did CMYK it would be perfect.
