Plurk is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to send updates (otherwise known as plurks) through short messages or links, which can be up to 140 text characters in length. Updates are then shown on the user's home page using a timeline which lists all the updates received in chronological order, and delivered to other users who have signed up to receive them. Users can respond to other users' updates from their timeline through the Plurk.com website, by instant messaging, or by text messaging.

I personally prefer Plurk over other microblogging websites because it allows you to easily see everyone's posts without too much hassle. Unlike Twitter where the sole focus is only your own tweets, Plurk enables you to really interact with everyone as you see their replies and plurks in one place.

I'd say it's main "thumb down" is the difficulty for 3rd party clients support due to it's "complicated" engine. Leaving that aside I consider it a fun and very useful tool to keep in touch and share your interests.

Очень прикольный сервис микроблоггинга. И русское коммьюнити клёвое)) В разы лучше того же твиттера хотя бы тем, что можно удобно общаться. Плюс просмотр картинок и видео прямо внутри, разная степень приватности месседжей. Ну таймлента нестандартная, да, и грузит сильнее, и, пожалуй, глючит больше. Но мне для полного счастья не хватает только возможности заносить в избранное и прицеплять метки.
