Plurk is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to send updates (otherwise known as plurks) through short messages or links, which can be up to 140 text characters in length.
Updates are then shown on the user's home page using a timeline which lists all the updates received in chronological order, and delivered to other users who have signed up to receive them. Users can respond to other users' updates from their timeline through the Plurk.com website, by instant messaging, or by text messaging.

I love plurk than twitter
For me, it might just be my computer, but when I type on that site every word comes one letter after another very slowly. It is a fun place to be with all the verbs and adverbs to choose from. I am pretty new to it right now, but once I use it more I'm sure I could find many uses for it.
It is definitely not like "Twitter" and has a fun design with its timeline concept.
I play in here from time to time when I am not busy.
Cool web app.
Great way to keep track of what you and your friends are up to. Very conversation-friendly. Takes the positives of other established communications like Email and IM and mixes them. The timeline may take some getting used to and going way back in the past is next to impossible with out the calendar that used to be there. The search is not nearly as cool as twitter's summize. Definitely not as well known or widely used as Twitter but it's just as powerful.
Much better than other microblogging services!
Plurk is a fantastic service; much more than a "Twitter clone."
