I read that the Chinese have blocked Plurk; that seemed a bit odd since Plurk
hardly has a presence in the English speaking world. So I joined to see what was
going on.
Plurk is a Twitter look alike. You get 140 characters. Instead of listing
down it uses a timeline as the organizing 'principle.' It gives karma points if
you are a regular user. There seems to be no way to search for communications
that you would be interested in. I also could not figure out why I saw the
selection of plurks from others that it put in my space. It said all plurks but
that was obviously not correct.
It is rather small. They work at protecting privacy more fully than some
other sites. You cannot do much to it to make it your own.
I am new to Plurk looking for a Twitter alternative as it is now heavy with
mindless celebraties.
It has an interesting interface that is not totally clear at the beginning.
It also seems to have users skewed toward SE Asia which is fine, but it is not
totally internationally spread.
I will use it, but I will likely mostly post to it using Ping.fm and not
direct visits.
Best social network site! Twitter users seriously need to switch to this...
the user interface is spectacular and you never have to see the fail whale!
It's like a mixture between Twitter and Facebook, I'm starting to like it

I love Plurk, it is totally addictive!
I feel like it is more 'personal' than Twitter, probably because of the threaded conversations.
alot like twitter, but somehow much better
Like Twitter, but little different.
Recently becoming one of the most popular social networking site on the web because of it's real-time interaction with contacts and fans.
mmmm.....not convinced
