The PortableApps suite has made using foreign computers far easier. A 16gig drive allows for this and other stuff but I could see one using a dedicated 2 gig stick to create a work environment one could drag anywhere. OpenOffice is milquetoast and a portable version of the WordPad built into Win 7 would be a closer approximation to what I'm looking for.
very useful tool!!
Useful if you're on the road and haven't packed your laptop.I personally prefer to use free cloud computing solutions (delicious, lastpass, etc..) which securely store your personal information online, rather than carrying it on an easy-to-lose USB key
This is especially useful when you want to use software that does a minimum systems requirements test on your netbook, like Adobe Photoshop, and deems it unworthy. With PortableApps I can now even use CS4 on an Asus 1000H netbook (with 2 gigs of memory).
Great! Very useful application for who is always moving from pc to pc!
It just start using, but it seems great. Should have an customized app selection. Rename shortcuts, etc.
Just great I can't live without it.
Attractive system tray launcher which automatically picks up new apps as you copy them into the PortableApps directory. However, it just gives an alphabetically ordered list with no organisation or nesting of menus possible. I use it to launch my most often used apps and then use it to start the PStart launcher to get at sub-menus.
Great app for pen drive users.
Yeah, this is a sweet app. Makes life so much easier.
Note to enrique: Firefox's cache is disabled by default for a reason -- to reduce flash drive wear from all the disk reads and writes that would occur with a cache. Plus, it saves disk space. If you want, you can go into Options and re-enable it, though it's not recommended.
Yea it's pretty great! Only prob is that firefox runs slow.. maybe its my usb drive.. it is a 2.0 usb drive tho.. bleh.. maybe have to tweek the cache.
Great for moving from computer to computer...now if there were only a way I could get Wakoopa to use for this thing. ;D
