The 37th most popular operating process on Windows

Process Lasso is a unique new technology intended to automatically adjust the allocation of CPU cycles so that system responsiveness is improved in high-load situations. It does this by temporarily lowering the priorities of background processes that are consuming too many CPU cycles, there-by giving other processes a chance to run. This process priority optimization is useful for both single and multi-core processors. No longer will a single process be able to bring your system to a virtual stall. In addition, Process Lasso offers capabilities such as default process priorities and affinities, termination of disallowed processes, a system responsiveness graph, logging of processes, and much more! Once you install Process Lasso, it'll just start working. More advanced users can tweak the configuration, but you needn't touch anything to have it instantly improve your system responsiveness in high load situations.

Great replacement for Task Manager - superb app from multi-CPU machines.

I have been a long-time user and beta tester. There are many programs that do similar functions, but this is my favorite for several reasons. You can use this to see what is running, to kill processes/apps, see cpu & ram use by app, set priorities and many other things. It has a fairly small footprint given its capabilities.

It is well supported and new versions are released on a regular basis. The developer is extremely helpful and will make program changes based on user input. There is also a support forum.

Useful for managing priority of processes, but not necessarily 100% stable all the time.
