I have used this for 15 years, but I can not say I am satisfied with it. I just have not found any thing that works better. Not from lack of trying though.
Started using Quicken in 89... with every additional data type comes more interface overhead than needed. Looking for a web replacement, but can't Kick this habit.
User feedback group rocks and may keep me with them for another version... but not at retail price... an not until there is a major update.
Been a Quicken user since 99 and been having great success in my money management. Current revision does have more graphical "fluff" that is not needed unless you are a novice. Otherwise, great reporting features and average Outlook integration.
I found it overly complex and returned to a simple Excel spreadsheet.
Using the Mac version which is a bit clunky. I use it mainly as a transaction register and to track upcoming expenses and the features beyond this are buggy or limited. I won't be staying with Quicken and will eventually switch to something else.
Alright, I broke down and bought Quicken 2009 since my bank is now available. Yes I like this version and the banking interface. Way to go Intuit.
Using version 2006 and it will be my last update. Never could stomach using M$ software other than the OS and under what drugs would I have to be taking to allow M$ to handle my finances...
Good program, plenty of features and sorta simple to use, but is being overtaken by corporate demands. No more upgrades.
I too have used Quicken for over ten years, but I'm sad to say that Quicken 2003 was the final and last version Intuit plan to release in the UK. This is a blow for home users for whom Quickbooks is an overkill/too expensive.
IMHO, Quicken's UK version has been largely killed by the poor development of online banking in the UK and, in particular, the failure of the banks to provide integration with Intuit's products.
What can I say? I've been using Quicken for personal accounting for close to a decade now, upgrading every 3 years or so. There may be cheaper or faster software packages out there, but this is good enough.
Perhaps the best program for personal account. Beats MS Money and the like by a long shot. It has an easy to use interface, very frequent updates, and with yearly available upgrades that incorporate most of the user-requested features, this software keeps getting better each year. Been at it for 4 years since version 2003 (now 2007) and I have no regrets.
