This sucks on windows, and to be brutally hones its not the best on the mac either, but it comes with the OS, so you are stuck with it. VLC is better,
annoying that it forever keeps installing itself as a startup utility in windows
Once you add Perian installed it'll take anything you throw at it, sure VLC does that by itself but QT integrates better with OS X
Watch your 3GP films.
My default movie player on any platform Mac or Windows
Quicktime X is a really nice improvement over the old (free) quicktime. They added a lot of the features that were only present in the paid version. The UI is easy and beautiful and it works great. This is a great program.
I loved this program on the Mac. However I find that it is almost useless on Windows.
Quicktime X just rocks. Interface is awesome.
Not my cup-a-tea
Cool. Minimal. Quicktime X rocks!
Quicktime X is a very good software. It runs almost everything I want to run. With Perian, this is a very good software that can level VLC or even better.
to slow there is another program out there i forgot the name but it is 10x better than this
Mixed feelings on what they have done with Quicktime between Leopard and Snow Leopard. You still need Perian if you want to watch various movies since Quicktime is limited on codecs. The interface is awesome but VLC still seems to be the movie app I gravitate towards.
An awesome application for playing videos and music. It has a great, simple interface, and basic video editing features. Even has screen recording and voice recording included. ^^ (This is version 10 for OS X I'm talking about, I don't think the Windows version has been released yet, if it's ever going to be. =p )
Using preference panes such as Perian and Flip4Mac allows you to use pretty much any video codec you need.
About a year ago, after being a Mac user my entire life, I started using QuickTime Pro for simple editing tasks, like cropping a video or exporting it in a different size/format. I have to say, it gets the job done fast and it's really easy to use. I bet the majority of QuickTime users think it's just a playback application and have no idea what it can really be used for.
