Hate that earlier verification code, and overall I think MediaFire is far
better than Rapidshare especially these days that Rapid start removing ppl
stuff!
Although the Concept behind it is well and good, Rapidshare which provides
anyone a means to upload any file for anyone else to retrieve at any time, is
full of requests of purchase, and nuisance timers in order to ensure that all of
it's users are inconvenienced into purchasing a full membership. Many ways to
get around this include: The Stand alone program: Universal Share Downloader, as
well as the Skipscreen Addon in Firefox.
It only just about does what it says - provides access to files that have
been uploaded by others.
Otherwise, this is abysmal, as far as file-hosting services go, thanks to
insanely long waiting periods prior to downloading files (anything from a minute
and a half for one-off downloads, to several hours when downloading multiple
files in a set), and slow file transfers. If this is as good as free access
gets, I'd hate to think about how "Premium" users are handled.
If it wasn't the most popular service (next to MegaUpload, which also sucks)
in terms of availability and range of files, then I'd stick with YouSendIt for
downloading large files from various sources...
I tried to download 2 files from rapidshare and both are corrupted (might be
the uploader's fault). In any case, the waiting is annoying and don't trust its
lifespan to be very long.
handy
very good sharer.
Not bad, Defacto standard it seems
its good

Personally, I think it's a little overrated.
I still remember the crappy cats verification code.
Love rapidshare and love the people who share their pass with their friends!!

I have nothin to say - just love it!
