Apparently it's a GUI for ffmpeg, a tool I use standalone quite often. Unfortunately, I'm not experienced in tweaking its finer details, so often videos I convert with FFMpeg alone wind up with crap quality. This converter, however, configured it correctly and converted my videos at the utmost of quality. It's web-based interface is rather irritating though, considering the ads and whatnot, but still useful if you learn to ignore it.

Good Video Converter for ipod & iphone
Good video converter. Online ads get in the way, easily remedied by preventing the application internet access using a firewall. Most videos are converted with no problems though I had some with audio/video sync issues.
