Reference Manager 12 is an excellent piece of off the shelf software for publication archiving/bibliographies. It does just about everything. The features it is lacking are: the ability to update a partial reference, the ability to download fulltext versions of a reference you have in your database (EndNoteX2 downloads full text versions easily).
Reference Manager is preferable to EndNote if you are more concerned with collecting refences and generating various reports than if you are concerned with just generating bibliographies.
