The Seam Carving GUI is a GUI front end to CAIR, which is an implementation of Arial Shamir's seam carving algorithm (aka content aware image resizing, aka image retargeting).

    Good for photo editing tasks that require removing certain objects from a picture, or stretching the background while maintaining your subject/s. It takes a bit of mastery, with regards to what kinds of pictures it works best with, and how it reacts to what you remove/retain. Could use more marking tools (rectangle and ellipse selections, magic wand, etc.), but price can't be beat.

    nice implementation.. really liked the interface too :) i think this ought to soon get incorporated into Picassa
