ShareSeashore is an open source image editor for Cocoa. It features gradients, textures and anti-aliasing for both text and brush strokes. It supports multiple layers and alpha channel editing. It is based around the GIMP's technology and uses the same native file format. However, unlike the GIMP, Seashore only aims to serve the basic image editing needs of most computer users, not to provide a replacement for professional image editing products. Rather basic... But better than GIMP in interface

Seashore is the best free image editor for OS X. It doesn't have nearly the capability of commercial image editors, but it does what it's supposed to do.
A very handy application for the simple changes to your pictures.

Seashore is a very handy application. It is based off of the GIMP's code base, but it is not a Photoshop replacement. Seashore is meant for minor photo manipulation. It offers some advanced features like layers and textures, but has the advantage of being a very lightweight app. A must have for just about anyone.
