Second Life can be more than just a game. It features a complete digital
world, free to be shaped to your thoughts and ideas. Second Life is free, but
uses a currency known as the Lindendollar (L$). This currency can be earned by
selling your home-made items to other residents, or by taking up one of the
various jobs. You can roleplay, explore, chat, use voice, or just simply kick
back in a chair and enjoy one of the many musicstreams. The more creative users
can build anything from jewelry up to complete castles, or script various
objects to allow interaction.
Overall Second Life is a good way to spend some free time. The menu's and
interface are easy to use. The bad side about Second Life is that it is on-line,
and when it gets busy where you're at, it can be (very) laggy. Also, to see
everything in full-detail with a decent framerate, you need a decent computer
with a good graphics card.
