An image editor on Mac and Windows

Autodesk SketchBook Express is a natural media drawing program based on Autodesk SketchBook Pro. It is available as a free download with the purchase of the Wacom Intuos4 tablet. It was created specifically for use with touch-sensitive pen and tablet interfaces, such as Wacom tablets or Tablet PCs.

Like Sketchbook Pro, it has an uncluttered interface, and realistic painting and drawing tools such as pencils, markers, and brushes. Artists can sketch naturally and create effects similar to traditional materials, due to the pressure-sensitivity features of Wacom Tablets and Tablet PCs.

SketchBook Express has layers, previous and next buttons for creating flipbooks or animation, an assortment of brushes, and a feature for rotating the canvas as you work. There is a color palette for creating a set of custom palette of colors.

i love the way the program translates pen pressure to my screen. lighter pressure means lighter lines, and harder pressure means darker lines.

the interface is especially easy to control with the pen, rather than feeling like you're having to use the pen as a mouse.

i haven't experimented with this program in too much depth so far, so i will report back after more use, but my first impressions are that for the purpose of just sketching, doodling, and all the other cool things you would do in a physical sketchbook, this program serves a fairly equal purpose for your computer.
