I use Skim when I need to take a lot of notes while reading a book or research paper, nothing beats it for that

The best PDF reader available. The note taking/markup extensions are brilliant.

I'm just using it as a PDF reader for the moment but it's sleeker and works a lot better than Adobe Reader which was sluggish and bulky in size for a reader. I'm much happier with Skim.

I can highlight, "circle" with rectangles, full-screen, and re-open the same set of files next time. Better than Preview, but not as bloated and crashy as Adobe.
