ZSNES uses a weird screen smoothing effect that you can't turn off without
using undesirable screen resolutions, and more importantly its sound emulation
is noticeably worse than SNES9X's.
I've only played a handful of games that only work on ZSNES, and all of them
are hacked/patched versions (the original clean versions always work with
SNES9X). Compatibility is therefore not an issue.
Other than the fact that the on-the-fly IPS patching doesn't work very well,
and the cheat menu gets glitched up crazily sometimes when you modify/remove
cheats, SNES9X is pretty much perfect.
