Snipping Tool is an application included in premium editions of Windows Vista and Experience Pack for Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005. The program is a screen-capture tool that allows taking screenshots (called snips) of windows, rectangular areas, or a free-form area. Snips can then be annotated, saved (as an image file or HTML page), or e-mailed.

I don't find I often need screen captures, but this serves the purpose for me, just fine.
I prefer winsnap, but I use this when I need to graffiti on pictures for tutorials and the like.
I love it and use it daily!

This is great! Another win by Microsoft. It loads fast and does its job well. Annotating is easy and useful, and there is a good enough variety of formats in which to save.
Just love it make similar apps in mac cry with shame. Can save in variety of formats. not just stupid png
