A complete 3D product design solution, providing your product design team with all the mechanical design, verification, motion simulation, data management, and communication tools that they need in one package. Each individual part is built on a set of Features, Extruded Bases, Revolved Bases, Swept Bases and lofts. Then they are modified by Extruded Cuts, Revolved cuts, Swept Cuts, Lofted Cuts, a shell can be created, the object can be filleted and chamfered, Ribs can be added, there is a hole wizard to create holes for specific screws and much more including weldements and sheet metals amoung other things. Parts can be imported from other programs in a large variety of file formats such as IGES, 3DM and many more. Sketches from programs such as Auto CAD and be imported and changed into full 3D parts very easily. After parts are created, they can be imported into assemblies, where they can be mated and an entire machine can be accurately simulated using the SolidWorks Animator with linear and rotational motor simulations as well as a few others. When it is used in conjunction with COSMOS there are another variety of simulations added such as gravity. All simulations are very accurate, they can also be exported into an AVI format. When used with a PhotoWorks buffer, the quality of the animation is greatly improved, which can be a great asset. SolidWorks also has a drawings function, where full drawings can be completed with a few clicks of a mouse. Dimensions can be easily added with the Auto Dimension feature, they can be added manually as well. I really love this program! I start using it for my education but it works on me like a drug... Maybe not that good at all...

This is an amazing program, what took us 3 programs to do is now one because of solidworks. This is a very efficient program, I would recommend it to anyone in the engineering field.
