Overall, Songbird is an awesome music library/player that is working towards
greatness. I used Songbird back when it was in the early alpha stages and it has
made huge strides since then. Right now the project is in great shape and has
enormous potential to burst into the mainstream, much like Firefox.
Obviously the project is still growing rapidly and as a result is missing a
few things. The feature I want most that songbird currently doesn't have is
visualizations. I'm hoping that the developers incorporate projectm or something
similar to accomplish this. My only other complaint is that memory usage could
probably be slimmed down a bit more, but I have not really run into a problem
with excessive memory usage while running songbird.
I am looking forward to seeing songbird's evolution and what new features the
developers have in store for us. I think the most exciting thing will be seeing
what kind of addons the community will come up with in the future.
Now I only wish that I could use Songbird to manage my iPhone rather than
being stuck with iTunes.
