Nice app, works in the background so it takes little system resources.

A good tool.

I think it's actually kind of obsolete - I uninstalled it and I use iobit's advance system care instead.

using it as extra protection, dont like that you must pay for auto update

I think this is a great tool to use in conjunction with other security tools. It updates the hosts file to block bad sites etc - sweet!

I am using this tool as an extra protection to my anti(rootkit,virus,spyware) on all of my windows boxes.
It is a simple tool that adds a killbit to dangerous activeX applets and kills dangerous cookies.

Spyware blaster is one of those tools which must be installed on any windows pc connected to the interneet. However it was never meant to be a standalone application and must be used in conjuction with other security software such as spybot or ad aware.

It´s always nice when there´s a bunch of programs that do the same thing and then comes something along that takes a different approach on the same problem. In this case SpywareBlaster - instead of fighting malware after it has entered the machine it prevents it. Of course, it can´t stop everything and it is rather specialized on IE exploiting badguys, but as a basic security tool it´s invaluable. As the commenter before me said: goes nicely with the immunization feature of SpyBot.

Good security tool. Basically It offers browser immunization + some back-up functions for HOST file and important system files. It enhance the Spybot S&D immunization tool. Freeware with manual updates. Paying a small fee, you can get automatic updates. Im march 2008 was released version 4. It doesn't affect system's performance
