Surfulater enables you to save anything you see on the Internet as well as any other important information that you need to permanently keep. You can use it as a general purpose information manager, a powerful research tool and research organizer, and as a knowledge base to build your own digital library of information.
On the Internet Surfulater lets you capture rich HTML text and images from web pages and save web pages in their entirety. It automatically captures the web page address (URL), the page Title, a thumbnail image of Web page and Meta information.
In other Windows Programs like MS Word or Adobe Acrobat you can gather content and directly create new Surfulater articles from it, using the Surfulater Clipboard Hotkey.
Files from your PC can be embedded directly into Surfulater Articles, so you have everything stored together in the one place.
Your information can be edited using Surfulater's built-in HTML editor. Articles can be linked together to build a web of related information and notes can be added to make content even more valuable.
Surfulater stores all of your information in a free form Knowledge Tree. You can create an unlimited number of folders to hold information and Surfulater solves the age old problem of which folder is best to use, by letting you store the same article in as many folders as you want. This capability combined with the ability to link articles together makes it much easier to categorize, organize and manage your information.

Surfulater.EXE
I have been using Surfulator for about a year now. I won my copy in a software give-away drawing at DonationCoder.com.
Like scribby said, it is actively developed. Not only that, but the developer is very approachable and takes an active interest in the users of his software and will listen to what they have to say.
He can be seen frequently participating in discussions on note-taking software on the DonationCoder.com forum.
Over the past year, I have noticed that my bookmarking habits have changed. I no longer bookmark a page that I might want to return to later. Now I save it in Surfulator. I will no longer have to worry about pages disappearing from the web, as now I have my own copy of it in a database on my PC...and it's searchable!
It is fantastic for keeping copies of all the good stuff you find and keeping it all sorted in a way that makes sense to you. You can also add your own notes & comments to the content you save.
It is also very easy to share a database with other Surfulator users. Just copy & give then 2 files. Everything saved in it, pages, text, graphics, etc...all will be there for them to enjoy. So now you can make a database archive of a subject and share it with friends as if it were an ebook. (as long as they are also Surfulator users)
In the past year that I have used Surfulator, I have not experienced it crashing...not even once, and I use it quite a lot.
I also have Evernote installed, but I am not crazy about the interface in that application. I am not thrilled with the toilet paper style. Compared to Surfulator, it definitely leaves something to be desired. If you are considering purchasing Evernote, give Surfulator a try before you buy. You might just change your mind.
All in all, I would have to say that Surfulator is one of the best applications I have installed within the past year.
I would highly recommend Surfulator to anybody. If you try it, you may not become a heavy user at first, but as time goes on you'll use it more & more, and wonder how you ever lived without it.
SurfuLater is the basis of most of my online research. It's easy to work with and is bug free AND actively developed.
