A must-have for anyone who can't afford to lose their data. Great for syncing documents, music, photos, and all other important files between machines.

Every night at Midnight backing up three computers onto my computers. Good program. Oh did I say that MS wrote another *good* program.

For what it does, it is a lifesaver. Syncing my documents to my USB Drive and my Desktop machine is just brilliant, and to make it better, it can be scheduled! (jmke if you look carefully you can set up scheduling)

This free software enables any user either to sync two folders, echo two folders, contribute from one to another, and has features to enable specific files to transfer.

For anyone who wants a simple sync software, SyncToy is brilliant. Well recommended

This soft removes the need to buy any other tool; I was previously using DirSync which I paid for, it has more advanced tracking and logging features as well as error reporting, but basic functionality is the same, keep two directories in SYNC including subfolders/files.

One things Sync Toy 2.0 does not do is allow you to automatically schedule it to run, you'll have to create your own schedulde task to make the soft run:

Use it to do simple backups and sync PCs and USB drives and such.

This is a great free utility from Microsoft. The wizard based interface is very easy to use and let's me recommend this without hesitation to my non-techie friends. Two caveats though:
    1. The installer tries to install by default to the C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data folder
    2. Metadata about your synchronizations is stored in the My Documents where it can easily be accidentally deleted. The ideal location would be in %appdata%
