This utility, which has the most comprehensive knowledge of auto-starting locations of any startup monitor, shows you what programs are configured to run during system bootup or login, and shows you the entries in the order Windows processes them. These programs include ones in your startup folder, Run, RunOnce, and other Registry keys. You can configure Autoruns to show other locations, including Explorer shell extensions, toolbars, browser helper objects, Winlogon notifications, auto-start services, and much more. Autoruns goes way beyond the MSConfig utility bundled with Windows Me and XP.
Also available as part of the SysInternals Suite, which includes a whole bunch of useful system utilities.

Easy to use to prevent programs from auto-running.
A great msnconfig enhancer ! This tool can make you understand and manage you system very well. Extremely easy to disable autostart entries without deleting related registry keys. Standalone and freeware
from the experts as Sysinternals bought my Micro$oft recently. I noticed them when they found the Sony rootkit a few months/years back. Simple way to kill startup tasks.
One of the better utilities out there for ferreting out startup programs that application suites sneak into your Windows setup.
