I love Textmate for scripting and web dev. I don't feel comfortable using it
for Java development, so I wouldn't be too quick to call this the one size fits
all tool. It is great at what it does, it just doesn't do everything.
It handles as good as any language you throw at it, and for C++ users such as
myself, it has XCode support, it automatically makes Xcode Compile your project
and displays error/warning outputs Xcode returns.
In short- it's the best app of it's kind, definitely recommended!
The best texteditor for mac out there. I couldn't imagine using anything
else. With such huge support for most kind of markup and the awesome
customizability :)
Textmate is simply the slickest text editor for the Mac... though it is a
little pricey compared to some equally great freeware found on Windows and
Linux. Yet, the same type of freeware on Mac can't hold a candle to Textmate
(making it well worth the investment). It's interface can be a little confusing
at first... gathering files into a tabbed interface took me a few minutes to
unravel, for instance... yet it's not big qualm. Kudos, Textmate!
I wrote my own programming editor many years ago that I used for 1 year
period.. then I came by TextMate and it addressed most of the reasons I wanted
to make my own editor. For ages the discussion has been emacs vs. vi, both has
been surpassed by TextMate. My deepest respect to Allan Odgaard, the author of
TextMate.
The code snippets make this application one of my favourite source code
editors. It's not an IDE, but it certainly is one of the best source code
editors available. And for RoR, it's almost unbeatable.
This is an excellent text editor. I use Quicksilver to open folders with
TextMate. This enables a simplified keyboard-based task flow for working with
text files.
TextMate is my preferred editor. I purchased a Mac primarily in order to use
Quicksilver and TextMate.

Best text editor (for mac) out there.
An awesome piece of software.
Textmate is very useful for Rails development
I've never seen a text editor this nice!

I don't know a developer that doesn't think that this is really a grreat editor.
For me at least, is one of the most valuable tools in my daily work.

The easiest, and mose effiecent text editing application I've ever used. I love the simplicty, and color schemes. It makes coding easier, and quicker!
