… More EditTitan Quest Gold is a PC action role-playing game developed by Iron Lore Entertainment.
Players take the role of a hero, fighting monsters in three ancient, mythological world settings including Sparta/Greece, Egypt and Silk Road/Asia. The game was conceived by Age of Empires co-creator Brian Sullivan and features ragdoll physics, full lighting effects, day-night cycles, ancient world mythology, modern 3D graphics, unique treasures, fast gameplay, and a world editor for players to rapidly create their own custom worlds, mods, and quests.
The game has a loot system where monsters can only drop items that they were using. After the player kills the monster the player can pick up the monster's items. The exceptions to this rule are rings, charms (which are invisible on the creature) and monster charms (which are a part of it, e.g. raptor teeth and turtle shells). However, drops are realistic, and the player is able to see what equipment will be dropped.
Frequently appearing are monsters from ancient Greek mythology, as well as skeletons, zombies, Telkines, titans, constructs, and dragons.

Great fun, diablo-esque rpg, Playing it in co-op with a buddy. If you want a casual old school experience get this one! :)
If you're tired of the usual Tolkienesque fantasyland that most action RPGs use and re-use, you should check out Titan Quest. Set in Classical times, you visit ancient Greece, Egypt, and China on an epic story-driven campaign. There are no elves, orcs, goblins, or trolls: instead, you have mythical creatures like satyrs, harpies, minotaurs, and medusas. If you have a soft spot for Greek mythology, you'll love this game. The Immortal Throne expansion also allows you to travel to Hades--the Greek underworld--and adds huge improvements to graphics and interface. Multiplayer is a blast, too. Unfortunately, the developers went out of business, but there is still a thriving community around this game, with fan patches that correct most remaining issues. I definitely recommend this game if you want something different in your action RPGs.
