With version 0.7 Tracker (the indexer, daemon etc not just the Search Tool
which is the UI) is moving to a more semantic rdf ontology of acting as a store
and retrieval mechanism for other applications to use. Acting as a service this
excellent desktop search client will then be able to join the underpinnings of a
semantic desktop (e.g. GNOME 3.0) through interaction with Zeitgeist etc. So
while, for now, Tracker is a fast, lean desktop search tool and file indexer the
future should be very exciting.
