I think this is the best Twitter client for Mac OS X. It's free, with pretty interesting ads every hour. Good interface with nice transitions, it's fast and lightweight. Overall a very complete Twitter client, with almost all Twitter functions built right in. The iPhone version of Tweetie is also recommended!
Tweetie for Mac is simply beautiful, it has got what it takes for a twitter client and has upcoming synchronization with Tweetie for Mac.

I've been doing a little testing, as i usually do when i've been using software for a while, just to see if there is anything else out there i should be using, with Tweetie, i have to say no, there are other Twitter Apps for the Mac out there, however they range from the Over display of data you get with Tweetdeck to the darn ugly and unusable. What Tweetie provides you with is a slick interface, which quite frankly, i'd be surprised if there wasn't at least one previous apple coder on the team, and features like Video, photo message, tweet shortening, URL shortening which are just there ready for you, you don't have to go and look for them. The interface is simple, and the advertising done on the free version, is done VERY unobtrusively. If you're an iphone user as well, this is your lucky day, as its on iphone /ipod touch
