Ventrilo Server

This is the server element of Ventrilo - in this case, a standalone, commandline application, configured via an .ini file, which runs as a service on a host PC, allowing other participants to connect to it and engage in voice chat with one other.

The free Ventrilo Server application is somewhat limited in comparison with the fully-fledged, hosted solutions available (for a monthly fee), but it works well for smaller groups of gamers on a LAN, home users or people wishing to set up a temporary Ventrilo server to chat with each other.

Ventrilo is best known for its superior sound quality and minimal use of CPU resources so as not to interfere with day to day operations of the computer or during online game competitions.
