The most popular network tool on Linux

Vinagre is a VNC client for the GNOME desktop environment. It was included in GNOME 2.22. It has several features, like the ability to connect to multiple servers simultaneously and switch between them by tabs, VNC servers browsing and bookmarking. However, it lacks other features existing in other VNC clients, such as controlling frame compression, color depth and frame rate. Since Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) was released, Vinagre has been included in the default installation as the official VNC client for Ubuntu. It is reported that the next version of Vinagre, which is to be included with GNOME 2.26 will add the ability to use the Remote Desktop Protocol. This will allow connections to Microsoft-based machines that have remote desktop sharing enabled.

I run linux on my work desktop with the irony that I'm a windows sysadmin. This makes reaching out to administrate windows clients/server easy, with a "recently-connected" history list, and yes the scaling feature is *very* useful.

Connects and work well to server. I like the scaling feature the most.

Отличное решение для удаленного управления на Ubuntu

This is the default screen sharing app within Ubuntu. The version that shipped with Ubuntu 9.04 is much improved. I use it regularly with other Ubuntu machines and Vine Server (OSXvnc) on the Mac. It doesn't connect with non-standard VNC client built into Mac OS 10.5 however. I haven't tried connecting to a Tight VNC server.

I use it extensively to administer remote systems. Nice basic VNC client, but i would have liked a few more features as found in windows clients like ultra VNC.
