Excellent IDE for the C# language. Feature rich for most desktop and web development needs. SharpDevelop has started to make some inroads though and it is certainly one to watch?

This Software is very good if you are just coding, either to learn or to create simple applications, C#. It has a wealthy amount of features, and is very much like the full version of Microsoft Visual Studio.
One reason to use this compiler is because it was made by Microsoft. C# was built for Microsoft Operating System's, and what better compiler to use than the one made by the dedicated company? It will also be getting a lot of support and fixes, unlike some other compilers.
The Performance on this was not as great as some other compilers, as it sometimes slowed down on more complex code. But on simple software, it worked flawlessly.
The Interface was great. It is very simple to create a new file, very efficient, and will save a lot of time.
All in all, it is a great beginner/simple app tool, and should be considered by those that are learning C# or are just building small "5 hour" programs.
Excellent alternative to Microsoft Visual Studio - comes free, installs fast, works just as good if you're not doing any sophisticated stuff.
Basically, it's a C# part ripped right from full Visual Studio with many little thingies being killed in action, like source control and add-ins. But hey, it's free and is somewhat faster then its older brother, so if you're new to C# and eager to develop a little app or XNA-based game, give it a try ;-)
