have to change the deinterlace when you are watching .mov files :O big deal....

If you're at all minimalist you'd realise that fancy bloated GUIs such as
WMP11 are pointless and kind of ugly, freeware apps such as VLC and foobar2000
are made to be functional and efficient, and are usually of higher quality
functionality wise.
Uberness. Get VLC Portable and you can play ANYTHING on ANY Windows
computer.
Great as a video player, streamer and converter, but not brilliant for Music.
Could use some work on Playlisting and ID3 tags. For Video, it's perfection.
I use VLC Portable, its good, but it takes ages to start up, still looking for something better.
I use JetAudio, because this player is not important for me.
I've been able to almost play anything with this brilliant media player.

I keep the portable version on USB in case I get a codec error.

Although the UI is not pretty it is extremely functional and the player itself will play back any video format.
One of the best media players. It supports almost all the popular formats.

It works. It plays a lot of codecs, and its fast.
