It was first released in 1999 for Microsoft Windows and the Sony PlayStation. On December 6, 2004 the source code and most of its data was released under the GNU General Public License, thereby making it a free game. Since then, development of the game has been continued by the community.

One of the best strategy games ever produced. Now that it is free, more people can enjoy it. Even have a Linux version.
