… More EditWikipedia is a free, multilingual encyclopedia project operated by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation. Its name is a portmanteau of the words wiki (a technology for creating collaborative websites) and encyclopedia. Wikipedia's 10 million articles, about a quarter of which are in English, have been written collaboratively by volunteers around the world, and almost all of its articles can be edited by anyone who can access the Wikipedia website. Launched in 2001 by Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger, it is currently the largest and most popular general reference work on the Internet. Everybody is free to edit the pages, but on wikipedia they prefer that you make a user account.

How we'v been able to live without wikipedia? It's so AWSOME!
It is a very useful tool, a great encyclopedia. The only issues are the graphics, bias, inaccurate information and it is hard to create a page.
Is there something that you can't find in Wikipedia ?
At least as reliable as any other Internet Source. Only difference is that Wikipedia is open about the potential for bias and unverified claims. This has led to the belief that it is inherently more unreliable than anywhere else online, which in my experience isn't necessarily true.

This is *the* world's encyclopedia. Wikipedia have made some good quality control improvements recently, but still need to work on presentation of data.
I've used it since 2004 and man I always learn new things from reading articles on here. And it's great for research projects as well!
