I've been using winamp for about 8 years now. But I'd have to say that it's
time on my desktop has been & gone. I'm currently changing media players
from Winamp to VLC, http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ which seems to play absolutely
everything I throw at it, all music & video formats. Although Winamp can be
modified to play majority of media formats, Winamp requires many plugins etc,
half of which are dodgy and do not work. Compare this to the one off install of
VLC that seems to have all codecs and needed plugins provided. Check it out.
