martin...
I tried the "Jammix" DSP plug-in for Winamp and I must say that
I'm quite impressed with the change of effects and overall output. Thanks for
the tip!
On it's own, the quality of the sound output from Winamp is not as good as
MS Media Player, but adding the Jammix DSP plug-in brings it close enough. It's
great for listening to internet radio stations.
the conventional wisdom is that it got bloated after aol took it over, but
compared to itunes or wmp, it's pretty damned lightweight. especially if the
more egregious nonsense (predixis music magic, shoutcast wire, etc) isn't
installed
WinAMP forever.

Winamp 2.95 is the best.

Truly the best audio player :)
This really whips the Llamas ass!
Love it! I can't stand iTunes neither any other program apart Amarok for linux.
Always play mp3 and other audio files with it. Never bothered with the video and other features.
sux. use f2k.
Lejos el mejor reproductor de audio que conozco.
Great looking when you install skins like MMD3 (http://www.winamp.com/skins/details/122902) or BOOM (http://www.winamp.com/skins/details/120056)
Although I think Window Media Player has a better library
one of my all time favorite programs...
