A very under-rated and somewhat unknown bit of software Windows Home Server is a very smart and central way of managing Backups of data all over a house, from Both Windows computers and Macintosh Computers should you set it up to back up to it. (It doesn't have the functionality built in and will probably be more manual then automatic.)

I would consider this 100 Dollars very well spent for this software, and would wholeheartedly endorse anyone with an extra computer and a bit of networking experience to grab themselves a copy it will make life much easier and quite a bit funner.
